Jordan’s ambassador to the United States, Dina Kawar, revealed a meeting between a Jordanian ministerial delegation with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy James Danly to discuss strategic cooperation and investment opportunities.

In a post on X, Kawar said that the meeting came to reaffirm the strong partnership between the Government of Jordan and the United States, and to discuss strategic cooperation and investment opportunities in the energy sector, including gas exploration, mining, critical minerals, and energy connectivity within the economic corridor.

The Jordanian delegation included, in addition to Ambassador Dina Kawar, Muhannad Shehadeh, Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Sami Smirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and Zeina Toukan, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation.

A Jordan- U.S. framework was signed to strengthen the security of supply chains for critical minerals and rare earth elements.

The visit also included productive discussions with U.S. counterparts on advancing economic collaboration, enhancing bilateral economic ties, and exploring opportunities for cooperation, including through initiatives such as IMEC.
