Army Chief affirms Armed Forces’ readiness amid regional tensions

Ammon News - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, affirmed on Monday that the Jordan Armed Forces are fully prepared to deal with various challenges and the current circumstances.

He highlighted the importance of the continued role played by Border Guard Forces in maintaining the security and stability of the homeland, stressing the need to maintain the highest levels of readiness and vigilance amid the exceptional conditions the region is witnessing.

Al-Huneiti's remarks came during a field visit on Monday to a number of formations and units of the Northern Military Zone. He began his tour at the Amr bin Al-As Mechanized Battalion/28, one of the units of the Yarmouk Mechanized Brigade/12, as part of ongoing field inspections to review operational duties and the readiness of units and formations to carry out various missions. He was received by the region’s commander.

Al-Huneiti, accompanied by several senior military officers, listened to briefings from officials on operational and training duties, as well as logistical aspects and future plans to be implemented. He stressed the importance of continuing to develop capabilities and enhance readiness to ensure the protection of the nation and safeguard its achievements and resources.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff also inspected the Border Guard Brigade/2, reviewing the measures taken to protect the borders and prevent infiltration and smuggling attempts. He emphasized that the Jordan Armed Forces will continue to strengthen Border Guard units with the necessary equipment, weapons, and systems to support them in carrying out their duties.

Al-Huneiti also performed the Maghrib prayer with personnel of the Royal Border Guard Battalion/10 and shared the Iftar meal with them, praising their efforts in fulfilling their national duty and commending their high morale and dedication in carrying out assigned tasks efficiently.

At the conclusion of the visit, Al-Huneiti conveyed the pride and appreciation of King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for the members of the armed forces across their various formations and units, as well as for their distinguished level of professionalism and their major role in maintaining the security and stability of the Kingdom amid the current regional circumstances.
