U.S. raises travel advisory for Jordan, Gulf States to Level 3

04-03-2026 08:59 AM

Ammon News -

United States Department of State has raised the travel advisory level for Jordan and three Gulf countries—Oman, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates—to Level 3 amid rapidly evolving regional developments.

In its security update, the administration of Donald Trump stressed that the safety and security of U.S. citizens worldwide remains a top priority. It noted that on March 2, a regional security alert was issued to Americans residing in or traveling to the Middle East in light of escalating tensions in the region.

Level 3 typically means "Reconsider Travel" under the State Department’s travel advisory system.

Meanwhile, the department kept Egypt at Level 2, stating that there has been no change in its overall assessment of the security situation there so far.
