CARC: Jordanian airspace reopened to air traffic

03-03-2026 04:03 PM

Ammon News - Chairman of Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Deifallah Farajat, on Tuesday announced Jordanian airspace has reopened to all civil aviation traffic (arrivals, departures, and transits) and the partial closure is now lifted after it had been in effect since Monday evening.

In a statement, Farajat said this decision follows a "thorough review and comprehensive" assessment of the operational and security situation amid current regional developments.

Farajat added that the decision to reopen the airspace was made after an "in-depth" risk assessment, in coordination with all relevant authorities.

Farajat noted the decision is "fully consistent with the highest" international standards adopted in the field of civil aviation safety and security.

On its policy, he stated the commission places the safety of passengers and aircrews and the protection of the Kingdom's airspace, at the "top of its priorities."

He noted the commission's technical staff will continue to "closely" monitor regional developments around the clock to take any precautionary measures that ensure the "safe and regular continuity of air operations."

In this context, the commission urged passengers to maintain "continuous" communication with their carriers to follow up operational updates and any adjustments to flight schedules resulting from this resumption.

CARC also affirmed its commitment to providing a "safe and stable" aviation environment, reinforcing Jordan's position as a vital air traffic hub in the region.
