Ammon News - The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said Monday that it is closely monitoring regional developments following the Israeli–US war on Iran, as part of efforts to ensure the continuity of the tourism sector and safeguard the safety of visitors and workers.
In a press statement, the ministry said it has formed an emergency operations room comprising representatives from the tourism sector and all relevant authorities. The unit remains in continuous session and is coordinating with official institutions concerned to take appropriate measures in line with evolving developments.
The ministry noted that tourist groups currently staying in the Kingdom are continuing their activities normally, with close monitoring of air traffic and tourism operations at archaeological and tourist sites.
Regarding upcoming tourist group bookings, the ministry indicated that current data shows demand has been affected by the prevailing circumstances, with possible cancellations over the next three months if the situation continues, which could impact the tourism season during March, April, and May.
In the same context, the ministry stressed that Jordan has not closed its airspace, and that air traffic continues in accordance with assessments by competent authorities and public safety considerations.
The ministry also affirmed continued coordination with relevant entities, urging visitors and citizens to follow official updates and contact the Tourist Police hotline (117777) to report emergencies or request assistance.
