Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Sunday, discussed the dangerous developments in the region.
The two leaders reiterated their condemnation of Iran’s aggression against the two Kingdoms and other Arab countries, stressing the need to employ diplomacy and dialogue to resolve tensions.
His Majesty reaffirmed that Jordan will continue to take all measures to preserve its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
His Majesty King Abdullah II also discussed with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman on Sunday, ways to de-escalate tensions in the region.
His Majesty emphasised that Iran’s aggression against the territories of Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of Arab countries threatens to widen the circle of conflict.
The King expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Oman to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in order to preserve the security and stability of the region.
In addition, His Majesty King Abdullah II received a phone call from United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, during which they discussed ways to reach comprehensive calm in the region.
His Majesty condemned the attacks on Jordan and a number of Arab countries, warning of the repercussions of these attacks on the security and stability of the region.
The King emphasised that current regional developments require effective action by the international community to de-escalate tensions.
For his part, Prime Minister Starmer condemned Iran’s attacks on Jordan and other Arab countries that are partners of the United Kingdom in the region, expressing the UK’s support and solidarity with Jordan and these countries.
King Abdullah II and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, during a phone call on Sunday, called for joint action to restore calm in the region.
His Majesty condemned the attacks targeting Jordanian territory and Arab countries, stressing that the Kingdom will take all necessary measures to preserve its security, stability, and ensure the safety of its citizens.
For her part, the European Commission president condemned the unjustified attacks, which constitute a violation of state sovereignty and international law, and affirmed the European Union’s support for Jordan and partners in the region.
The King and Lebanon President Gen. Joseph Aoun, discussed the need to immediately restore comprehensive calm in the region.
His Majesty reaffirmed that Jordan will continue to take all measures to protect its security and stability, preserve its sovereignty, and ensure the safety of its citizens.
The King also underscored the need to halt the dangerous escalation in the region, prevent it from spreading to other countries, and employ dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve crises.
His Majesty also received a phone call on Sunday from Iraq President Abdul Latif Rashid to discuss developments in the region.
The two leaders stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of countries in the region, and utilise diplomatic channels to resolve conflict.
The call also covered the importance of stepping up international efforts to de-escalate the situation and restore calm.
The King and Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, president of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, during which they discussed regional developments.
His Majesty reiterated that Jordan will continue to take the necessary measures to safeguard its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
For his part, Burhan stressed Sudan’s unwavering position in support of Jordan as it deals with attacks targeting its security and stability.
In addition, His Majesty and Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, during a phone call on Sunday, discussed the recent dangerous developments in the region.
His Majesty emphasised the need for Iran to cease its attacks on countries in the region, reiterating his condemnation of any actions that undermine the sovereignty of states and the safety of their peoples.
The call also covered the importance of urgent action to mobilise an international position that would reduce the dangerous escalation and restore stability in the region.
For his part, the Pakistani prime minister expressed his country’s solidarity with Jordan and support for the Kingdom’s measures to protect its security and the safety of its citizens.
