Ammon News - Jordan Customs Department’s Anti-Smuggling Directorate, in cooperation with security agencies, were able to thwart large quantities of smuggled materials in shops prepared for this purpose.
The smuggled materials contained 6500 packs of e-liquids and vape juices, 20 kilograms of hookah tobacco, 2,000 cartons of cigarettes, 280 electronic cigarette pods, and various counterfeit prohibited goods.
The Customs stressed that these efforts come within the framework of protecting the national economy and the health of citizens, and its impact on the health of the citizen, and combating commercial fraud and smuggled materials that violate public health rules, in addition to maintaining fairness in the markets and raising awareness about the dangers of smuggling and its negative impacts on society and the economy.
Also, it explained that the success of these operations is due to the close cooperation between customs and security agencies, in addition to the genuine partnership with the citizen, who is a key pillar in combating smuggling by providing information that contributes to protecting his health and safety and supporting compliant traders.
