Ammon News - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) announced the adoption of digital identity via the "Sanad" application in all banks operating in the Kingdom as an official and approved method for verifying customer identity. This serves as an equivalent alternative to traditional personal identification when conducting banking transactions and services, as part of the CBJ's efforts to enhance digital transformation and develop the financial services infrastructure.
This achievement is part of the CBJ's efforts to automate and digitize banking operations, contributing to increased operational efficiency, streamlined procedures, improved customer experience, and enhanced security and reliability in identity verification using the latest approved digital technologies.
Adopting digital identity allows customers to complete their banking transactions easily and securely by presenting their digital identity via the "Sanad" application without needing to provide traditional personal identification, the CBJ indicated.
The Central Bank of Jordan also affirmed its continued collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and other relevant institutions to develop the digital financial services ecosystem, contributing to the government's comprehensive vision for digital transformation.
