Ammon News - Eng. Adnan Al Sawair announced his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority PDTRA.
In a Facebook post, Al Sawair stated, "I learned a short while ago that I have been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority."
He added that he will begin his new role drawing strength and inspiration from the efforts initiated by His Majesty the King in economic modernization and development across all sectors, and from the dedication and attention that the Petra region deserves to reach the highest level among global tourism and development destinations.
Also, Al Sawair expressed his deep gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet for this great trust, affirming that it will remain a responsibility he will bear, and he will exert every effort to uphold it and fulfill it to the fullest extent.
He noted that he is currently in Italy on a working visit with a Jordanian delegation, and coincidentally, the PDTRA participated in this visit. An agreement was reached with the Italian side to inaugurate an archaeological restoration center in Wadi Musa on April 9th. This agreement was reached before he learned of his new appointment.
Al Sawair also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Fares Braizat praised his significant efforts during his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and his remarkable achievements, emphasizing that a meeting with him would be a priority upon his return home.
He indicated that he would return to Amman on Tuesday, and well-wishers would be received starting at 4:00 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Adebian Hall in Na'ur. If Wednesday falls on the first day of Ramadan, the reception will be held after Iftar.
It is worth noting that the Cabinet decided to appoint Eng. Adnan Khalaf Al Sawair as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, succeeding Dr. Fares Braizat.
