ACC exports reach JOD 155 million in January

10-02-2026 10:28 AM

Ammon News - The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) reported a notable increase in export certification activity during January of 2026, reflecting growing trade flows to regional and international markets.

Data released by the Chamber and obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) show that 2,279 certificates of origin were issued during the month, marking a 2.7 percent rise compared with the same period last year.

The total value of exports covered by these certificates climbed sharply, increasing by 32.2 percent to nearly JOD 155 million, up from JOD 116 million in January 2025.

Switzerland ranked as the leading destination in terms of export value, with shipments worth JOD 52 million documented under eight certificates. Iraq followed closely with exports valued at JOD 47 million, supported by 206 certificates.

Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Egypt also featured among the top destinations. Exports to Saudi Arabia were valued at around JOD 8 million, while Syria recorded JOD 7 million across a large volume of certificates. Egypt imported goods valued at approximately JOD 6 million. Together, these markets accounted for the highest shares in both value and volume.

By product category, foreign-origin goods re-exported from Jordan accounted for the largest share at JOD 60 million. Industrial products followed at JOD 17 million, while Arab-origin goods reached JOD 12 million and agricultural products stood at JOD 10 million. Remaining exports were distributed across other categories.

Certificates of origin play a central role in international trade, as they confirm the country in which goods were produced or processed, enabling customs authorities to apply the appropriate tariffs and trade measures.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for a wide range of products, including Jordanian agricultural and animal goods, raw natural resources, re-exported foreign merchandise, and locally sourced foreign goods, in line with established regulations.

Certificates for Jordanian industrial products are issued upon request, subject to verified documentation confirming Jordanian origin, in accordance with the relevant trade regulations and instructions. Petra
