Ammon News - The General Authority for Ports and Customs in the Syrian Arab Republic issued a decision prohibiting the entry of non-Syrian trucks into the country through its land border crossings.
According to the decision, which "Ammon News" reviewed, the transfer of goods between Syrian and non-Syrian trucks will take place within the customs area at each border crossing, in accordance with established procedures.
The decision exempts trucks in transit, provided that customs officers escort them between the two crossings.
The decision, issued Friday, went into effect immediately.
The Authority justified the decision as a measure to regulate shipping and transport through land border crossings and seaports.
