AMMONNEWS - The Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV) stressed that the foundation is a committed Jordanian governmental agency that is different and separate from the National Committee for Retired Military Personnel.
In a statement issued Saturday, ESARSV said that it is a government agency that is differs in foundations and content from the National Committee for Retired Military Personnel, which ESARSV says is a committee that has no links to the government and operates outside of ESARSV.
The statement said "We, ESARSV, consider that the existing institutional system in our country, which was built by His Majesty the late King Hussein Bin Talal throughout the years, and reinforced by His Majesty King Abdullah II, is the constitution, which governs Jordanians of all origins and descents, and that the strong Jordanian 'fabric' will not be affected by unplanned thoughtless rhetoric."
"Jordan is governed by laws and regulations legislated by the Senate and the House of Representatives, and the State, endorsed by the King in all circumstances," the statement added.
"To politically address any significant internal or external matter, if not issued by national parties that understand and realize the level of responsibility, or by politicians who have a 'Jordanian political sense,' is considered a form of tampering, lacks commitment, and disturbs and harms the internal relations in Jordanian society, or harms the national economy, which is the basic foundation for building modern Jordan," the statement said.
The statement called on citizens to be cautious when reading the statement issued by the National Committee for Retired Military Personnel, which ESARSV claims "is a clear encroachment in the work of the constitutional authorities in Jordan."
ESARSV’s statement, which was published on their website on Saturday, comes two days after the National Committee for Retired Military Personnel issued a statement calling for a broad meeting for retired military personnel to discuss the measures that need to be taken in regards to the contents of its previous statement and national issues including the Parliamentary elections, and other important issues, “especially amidst the difficult economic conditions facing Jordanians, including the retired military personnel.”
The National Committee’s statement published on Thursday alluded to the contents of its previous statement which called for serious consideration of “the need to preserve the national Jordanian identity and the national identity of Palestinians, combating corruption and the corrupt, respect for the principles of the constitution, putting an end to violations of the constitution, achieving social justice, and preserving national solidarity with stress on the need to put the 1988 Disengagement with the West bank Decision into law, and ruling unequivocally that Jordanians of Palestinian descent before the 1988 Disengagement Decision are Jordanians.”
