Ammon News - The Israeli army claimed to have thwarted an attempt to smuggle ten weapons across the eastern border (the border with Jordan) on Wednesday night.

According to a statement issued by an Israeli army spokesperson, a drone carrying the weapons crossed into Israeli territory from the eastern border and was successfully intercepted.

Hebrew media outlets reported that the incident began after Israeli army surveillance detected the drone crossing the border from the east in a suspicious manner.

After quickly identifying the drone, forces from the Spatial Division were dispatched to the location and moved decisively to intercept it and prevent it from completing its mission inside Israeli territory.

After intercepting the drone, the forces searched the area and found the ten pistols it was carrying.

The army collected the recovered weapons and handed them over to the relevant security agencies for further investigation, which will determine the source and intended destination of the weapons.
