Over 76,000 visits to tourist sites in two weeks, Petra tops list

Ammon News - Tourist sites across Jordan recorded a total of 76,054 visits between January 1 and 14, with Petra topping the list with 15,244 visitors, according to figures from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Data cited by Al-Mamlaka TV showed that foreign tourists accounted for 75% of visits, while Jordanians made up 20% and Arab visitors 5%.

After Petra, the Jordan Museum attracted 11,812 visitors, followed by Jerash with 9,825, while the rest of the visits were spread across other tourist attractions in the Kingdom.

The ministry noted that the statistics include repeat visits to multiple sites by both local and international tourists.

Jordan’s tourism sector also posted strong performance in 2025, as visitor numbers climbed to 7.04 million, and tourism revenues increased by 7.6% to JD 5.523 billion.

In addition, 161,000 people participated in the "Urdunna Jannah" Tourism Program, demand for the unified ticket rose significantly, 276 new tourism facilities were classified, and 48 tour guides were licensed.
