Ammon News - Minister of Local Administration Eng. Walid Al-Masri conducted a dawn inspection tour on Tuesday of several municipalities in the Na’ur District, including Na’ur, Hisban, and Umm Al-Basatin, in addition to Madaba Municipality and the Madaba Joint Services Council.
The visit came as part of a field assessment to evaluate staff readiness and the implementation of approved emergency plans aimed at mitigating the impact of the expected weather system.
During the tour, Al-Masri visited the emergency operations center at Na’ur Municipality, where he was briefed by the head of the municipal committee on precautionary measures, including the readiness of equipment, technical and field teams, and emergency response procedures.
In Madaba Governorate, the Minister inspected the emergency operations center at Madaba Municipality, followed by a visit to the emergency center of the Madaba Joint Services Council. There, he received updates from officials on the coordination efforts and readiness measures undertaken by the municipality, the council, and the Directorate of Municipal Affairs in response to the prevailing weather conditions.
Al-Masri stressed the importance of the proper distribution of emergency teams across all municipal areas, close monitoring of flood-prone locations and drainage channels, and ensuring full readiness of personnel and equipment to enable swift intervention when necessary.
He also underscored the need to intensify field operations and maintain continuous coordination with central emergency rooms and relevant authorities, including administrative governors, Civil Defense, the Ministry of Public Works, and the Ministry of Water, to safeguard citizens’ lives and property during the weather depression.
