European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen posted a video on Thursday showing her and European Council President António Costa being received by His Majesty King Abdullah II at Al Husseiniya Palace ahead of the trilateral Jordanian summit, which was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

Von der Leyen wrote on her official X account, "Thank you, Your Majesty King Abdullah II, for your hospitality and warm welcome in Amman at our first-ever summit."

Jordan is a long standing partner of Europe in the Middle East. And a cornerstone of regional stability, adding, "Together, we are turning commitments into action. For stability, resilience and shared prosperity."
