JSMO warns against buying diesel from fake websites

27-12-2025 02:59 PM

Ammon News - The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) warned citizens and businesses against purchasing diesel fuel through fake websites or falling for offers promoted by pages impersonating companies operating in the fuel sector and claiming to deliver diesel to their premises.

In a post on social media platforms, JSMO stressed the importance of avoiding purchases from unknown or unlicensed online sources. It urged consumers to check the tanker's permit issued by JSMO and ensure it is valid.

JSMO emphasized the importance of verifying the presence of official seals on the tanker's meter, ensuring the hose is filled with diesel, and that the meter reads zero before filling begins. It also stressed the need to obtain a printed invoice detailing the quantity of fuel dispensed and to verify that the invoice amount matches the meter reading.

JSMO further advised consumers to retain the tanker's registration number and the name of the station or company it belongs to, as this facilitates follow-up and prosecution in case of any issues or violations.
