Ammon News - Jordan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office and other world organizations participated in the annual UN Annual Diplomatic Bazaar-UNWG International Bazaar- held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The event saw "high-level" official and diplomatic attendance and broad participation from permanent missions accredited to the United Nations in Geneva.
The Jordanian mission held a national Jordanian pavilion that reflected richness of the Kingdom's cultural identity and heritage, as authentic Jordanian national products were displayed, as well as traditional Jordanian cuisine, which drew attention of visitors, members of the diplomatic corps, and staff of international organizations.
According to a mission statement, the Jordanian pavilion featured a "distinguished" collection of products reflecting Jordan's craftsmanship and creativity, including heritage crafts and handmade items with an authentic cultural character.
The pavilion also showcased dishes from Jordanian cuisine, a key component of the national identity, with Jordanian flavors proving a major draw for visitors and offering a glimpse into the Kingdom's rich culture and traditions.
This charity bazaar, organized by the United Nations Women's Union, in cooperation with permanent missions since 1976, is a well-established humanitarian and social event on the international community's agenda in Geneva.
All revenues are dedicated to supporting underprivileged children worldwide, embodying the values of international solidarity and shared responsibility.
Presence of the Kingdom's Permanent Mission underscores Jordan's "unwavering commitment" to international humanitarian work and its dedication to supporting initiatives that protect children and promote social justice.
The statement added that this step also highlights the Kingdom's "civilized image and its active role" within the United Nations system.
Additionally, Jordan's participation underlined that culture, cuisine, and heritage are "powerful soft power tools in diplomacy and in fostering understanding between peoples.
The Permanent Mission took part in this event with the support and cooperation of Royal Jordanian (JA) and the Jordan Tourism Board.
