JCI, Rwandan Embassy discuss enhancing economic cooperation

29-10-2025 05:00 PM

Ammon News - The Vice Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), Mohammad Walid Jitan, met on Wednesday with Rawandan Ambassador to Jordan, James Ngango, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral industrial and investment cooperation and review available economic opportunities.

According to a JCI statement, Jitan said Jordanian industry seeks to strengthen industrial and commercial cooperation with the Republic of Rwanda and increase their trade exchanges, which "remain modest, given the untapped" export opportunities available in the Kingdom in the fertilizer, pharmaceutical, chemical, apparel, metal, and plastics sectors.

In turn, JCI Director General, Dr. Hazem Rahahleh, called for organizing specialized exhibitions and exchanging delegation visits, which contribute to strengthening communication among business owners and opening new markets for Jordanian products in Africa.

Rahahleh noted the Jordanian industrial sector views Rwanda as a "promising" gateway to the markets of many African countries, emphasizing the chamber's keenness to develop economic relations with Rwanda and build "strategic" partnerships that serve common interests.

For his part, the Rwandan envoy affirmed his country's "commitment" to strengthening economic and industrial cooperation with Jordan.

Ngango stated his country looks forward to organizing a joint business forum in preparation for the upcoming session of the Jordanian-Rwandan Joint Committee to be held in Amman in December of next year.

The diplomat also said the forum will provide an "important" platform for deepening dialogue between the two countries' business leaders and exploring cooperation opportunities in the fields of industry, agriculture, services, tourism, and technology, which would enhance trade and investment and serve mutual interests.
