Exports Rise 8% in First Eight Months of 2025

Ammon News - The Department of Statistics issued on Thursday its monthly report on Jordan’s foreign trade, showing an eight percent increase in national exports during the first eight months of 2025, and a 4.8 percent rise in re-exports.

Consequently, total exports grew by 7.7 percent compared with the same period in 2024.

This growth coincided with a 5.6 percent increase in imports, leading to a 3.5 percent rise in the trade deficit during the same period compared to 2024.

The report indicated that the ratio of total exports to imports reached 51 percent during the same period, up by one percentage point from 50 percent in 2024. For August alone, the coverage ratio remained stable at 50 percent, the same as in the corresponding month last year.

Total exports during the first eight months amounted to JD6.71billion, including JD6.098 billion in national exports and JD612 million in re-exports. Imports during the same period reached JD13.156 billion.

On a monthly basis, total exports for August reached JD912 million, of which JD830 million were national exports and JD82 million were re-exports, while imports stood at JD1.837 billion.

Compared with August 2024, total exports rose by 5.8 percent, national exports by 5.5 percent, re-exports by 9.3 percent, and imports by 7.1 percent.
