20-10-2025 10:09 AM

Ammon News - The Anti-Narcotics Department has carried out a series of successful operations in recent days, targeting drug traffickers and smugglers across the Kingdom. The coordinated efforts resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals and the seizure of large quantities of illegal substances, according to a spokesperson from the Public Security Directorate.

One of the key operations took place at the Jaber border crossing, where a man attempting to smuggle 85,000 narcotic pills into the country was intercepted. Further investigation led authorities to his residence, where 13 blocks of hashish were discovered.

In southern Amman, security teams launched targeted raids against known drug networks. Three suspects were detained, including a major supplier believed to be distributing to local dealers. Authorities confiscated 15 blocks of hashish during the operation. Elsewhere in the capital, three additional dealers were caught with 9 blocks of the same substance.

In Jerash, intelligence efforts led to the arrest of two suspects believed to be transporting drugs from Ramtha. The raid resulted in the seizure of 40 blocks of hashish. In a separate incident in Zarqa, a drug dealer was caught with 6 blocks of hashish in his possession.

Further south in Aqaba, a large-scale drug stash was uncovered after a trafficker was arrested. Information provided during interrogation led security teams to a hidden storage site in a remote rocky area, where 36 blocks of hashish were recovered.
