Syrian Delegation Visits PSUT to Strengthen Academic, Research Cooperation

Ammon News - Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) President Wejdan Abu Elhaija on Monday received Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Marwan Halabi and his accompanying delegation during an official visit to the university.

The meeting, attended by PSUT Vice President Osamah Badarneh, members of the Board of Deans, and senior officials, highlighted the university’s achievements and growth at local and international levels.

Abu ElHaija reviewed the university’s progress in academic programs and the introduction of pioneering specializations in computer science, engineering, and business technology.

She credited these achievements to the vision and support of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, whose guidance aims to prepare a generation capable of innovation and addressing global challenges in line with sustainable development goals.

Abu ElHaija underscored the university’s readiness to share its academic, research, and technological expertise to support Syria’s Ministry of Higher Education during the reconstruction phase, contributing to institutional development and capacity building.

Halabi praised the PSUT’s excellence and innovation, commending the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan.

He expressed the ministry’s interest in benefiting from the university’s expertise, particularly in specialized programs, admission tests, and short training courses aimed at professional development.

The delegation also toured the Innovation Lab, where students and faculty presented projects in computer science, engineering, and business technology.
