Ammon News - This is a first in the history of the baccalaureate. A 9-year-old girl, living in Dubai but registered as an independent candidate in Paris, obtained her diploma in June with specializations in mathematics and physics-chemistry. Without distinction, and after a resit, but with some brilliant grades, including a 20/20 in the oral exam. She thus erased the previous record for precocity, held since 1989 by an 11-year-old baccalaureate holder.

An extraordinary accelerated course

Behind this feat, there's no "gifted" profile, according to those around her. Her godmother describes her as a "very normal, curious, and full of life" little girl who grew up in France before leaving with her parents, a veterinarian and a nanomaterials researcher, for the United Arab Emirates.

A student at an international school, she was also following an accelerated program offered by the Isoset organization, founded by Hugo Sbaï, himself a 12-year-old high school graduate. This method condenses learning, getting straight to the point and tackling concepts deemed complex earlier. "We don't go over the same chapter ten times; we move forward," explains its creator, convinced that the traditional school system artificially slows down students' progress.
