Ammon News - Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/7 performed a special surgery on a 19-year-old patient who sustained a head injury and was suffering from a severe subdural hemorrhage.

In a statement Saturday, the hospital's force commander said the step came in implementation of the Royal directives to provide the "best" medical and humanitarian services to the people of the Gaza Strip to alleviate Gazans' suffering and provide aid and assistance due to the ongoing war.

The commander noted the hospital's teams performed a special surgery, with the help of specialized and skilled medical staff.

In turn, the hospital director said the "successful" surgery was performed by the healthcare facility's medical team, specialized in brain and nerve surgery and anesthesia.

The neurosurgeon said the patient sustained a head injury, caused by shrapnel that penetrated the skull and triggered severe subdural hemorrhage, prompting immediate surgical intervention.

Breaking down the procedure, he stated the surgery took five hours, during which the skull was opened, the hemorrhage was drained, and the cerebral clots were removed.

He added that the rapid intervention contributed to saving the patient's life and preventing serious medical complications, adding that the patient was closely monitored in intensive care and left the hospital in stable condition.

For their part, the patient's family expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II, valuing the tremendous efforts of the Jordanian field hospital's crews in mitigating the war's impact on Gaza people.
