Ammon News - The Southern Military Zone on Tuesday thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics using a drone along the western front of its area of responsibility.

A military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that Border Guard units in the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, applied rules of engagement after detecting and tracking the drone. The drone was intercepted and brought down within Jordanian territory, and the seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities.

The source affirmed that the Armed Forces remain determined and resolute in preventing the entry of narcotics into the country and safeguarding national security.
