Ammon News - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh said on Wednesday that Jordan is holding talks with the Syrian side to supply Syria with electricity.

During a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, Mohammad al-Bashir, Kharabsheh indicated that Syria will work to rehabilitate the electricity interconnection line within Syrian territory that connects Jordan.

"An action plan has been prepared to explore areas of cooperation in the energy sector between Jordan and Syria, at a time when Jordan is putting all its capabilities at the service of Syria in this field," Kharabsheh added.

For his part, al-Bashir said that significant cooperation has begun between Jordan and Syria in the field of energy and gas supply to Syria through a tripartite cooperation between Jordan, Syria, and Qatar.
