29-05-2025 10:03 AM

Ammon News - The Ministry of Labor announced the suspension of recruitment of non-Jordanian workers, effective on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Mohammad Zayoud, the ministry’s spokesperson, said the decision to halt recruitment came after a three-month period to meet the needs of employers in a number of economic sectors for non-Jordanian workers, explaining that the ministry would not reopen recruitment of non-Jordanian workers until after a careful and comprehensive study of the labor market.

He also affirmed that the ministry will continue its inspection campaigns, which it is implementing in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate, in all governorates of the Kingdom to arrest illegal non-Jordanian workers and take legal action against employers who employ such workers.
