Jenin: Israeli aggression continues for the 119th day in a row

19-05-2025 12:06 PM

Ammon News - The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp for the 119th consecutive day, expanding their bulldozing and destruction operations inside the camp with the aim of changing its features and structure, while continuing to prevent entry or access to it.

Last night, the occupation forces stormed the eastern neighborhood of Jenin and arrested a young man after raiding his home amidst the hovering of drones.

They deployed near the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque and the al-Saadi Diwan in the neighborhood, and deployed their military vehicles in the city's streets and markets. Occupation soldiers also raided a house in the al-Jabariyat neighborhood near Jenin camp.

The occupation forces continue to fire live ammunition intensively inside Jenin camp, despite it being empty of its residents after forcing them to flee more than four months ago.

The few images emerging from Jenin camp show unprecedented destruction to homes, citizens' property, and infrastructure.

Last night, Sunday, the occupation forces stormed the town of Ya'bad, south of Jenin, and deployed infantry units in its streets.

Villages in Jenin Governorate are witnessing almost daily incursions as the aggression against the city and camp continues. Daily military movements are recorded in most villages of the governorate, along with a constant presence of occupation patrols and vehicles.

The occupation forces also continue their complete closure of Jenin Camp and prevent access to it, amid ongoing bulldozing and destruction operations inside it, aimed at altering its structure and features.

According to Jenin Municipality estimates, approximately 600 homes have been completely demolished in the camp, while the rest have been partially damaged and rendered uninhabitable.

Jenin City is also witnessing significant damage to facilities, homes, and infrastructure, particularly in the eastern neighborhood and the Al-Hadaf neighborhood.

Families from the camp, along with hundreds of families from the city and its surroundings, remain forcibly displaced to this day.

The Jenin Municipality indicates that the number of displaced persons from the camp and city has exceeded 22,000.

The economic situation in Jenin is deteriorating further, with heavy commercial losses resulting from the aggression.

This has led to the closure of many shops, a decline in shopping activity, and the bulldozing and destruction of infrastructure and streets. A large number of shops have been damaged, particularly in the western neighborhoods, which are experiencing near-total economic paralysis.

Since the start of the aggression on the city and camp on January 21, 2020, 40 citizens have been killed, along with dozens more injured and detained. WAFA
