Senate President, Turkish envoy discuss ties, regional developments

Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez on Wednesday discussed with Turkish Ambassador, Yakup Caymazoglu, regional developments, bilateral relations, and opportunities for expanding cooperation in various fields.

Speaking at the meeting, Fayez underscored the "strong" Jordanian-Turkish ties, noting the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to enhance cooperation and maintain coordination on key regional and international issues.

Fayez also highlighted the need to boost joint economic collaboration and investment, particularly in the food industry, calling for activating bilateral agreements across multiple sectors.

According to a Senate statement, the meeting addressed the current regional situation and Jordan’s "firm" positions, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, in supporting peace and stability.

Fayez reiterated the King's efforts to halt Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank and ensure "immediate" access to humanitarian and medical aid for the coastal strip.

Meanwhile, Caymazoglu affirmed Türkiye's commitment to deepen bilateral ties and maintain "close" coordination on regional challenges.

The diplomat praised King Abdullah II’s pivotal role in promoting regional security, underlining importance of implementing mutual economic and investment agreements.

On the situation in Syria, the two sides condemned the Israeli aggression against Syrian territory, reiterating support for the country's unity, stability, and territorial integrity. Petra
