Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with the military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), thwarted an infiltration and smuggling from Syrian territory at dawn on Wednesday, an official military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army announced.

The source stated that a group of smugglers were spotted attempting to cross the border illegally, while the border guard forces in the zone implemented the rules of engagement, forcing them to retreat deep into Syria, adding that large quantities of narcotics were seized and transferred to the relevant authorities.

The source underlined that the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army will use full force against any threat to the borders and prevent anyone tempted from tampering with Jordanian national security.
