Tareq Al-Momani has been elected President of the Jordan Press Association, winning 531 votes in Friday’s election. His closest rival, Falha Brizat, received 303 votes, while Jamal Al-Alawi finished with 40.
The vote saw strong participation from the press corps, with polls open until 6 p.m. Out of 1,078 eligible members, a large number turned out to choose a new president and executive council.
The results were announced by Mohammad Al-Tal, head of the Association’s Election Committee.
Also, Aouni Daoud has been elected Deputy President of the Jordan Press Association (JPA), winning 365 votes in Friday’s ballot held at Al-Hussein Youth City.
The results were announced by head of the JPA Electoral Committee, Mohammad Al-Tall, following the official count.
Daoud topped a field of four candidates, with Nader Khatatbeh receiving 214 votes, Jamal Shtaiwi 178, and Ayman Majali 114.
