Ammon News - Dr. Issa Khashashneh was elected President of the Jordan Medical Association (JMA) for the 35th term, the association announced on Saturday.
In a presser, the JMA said Khashashneh garnered 3,972 votes, ahead of his closest competitor, Dr. Tariq Tamimi, who received 3,411 votes.
The elections were held at the Professional Associations Complex in Amman, as well as the JMA's branches in the Kingdom's governorates, amid "intense" competition to elect the president and members of the new council.
Voting operations began Friday morning and continued until 8:00 p.m, as a total of 8,036 doctors participated in the elections. Petra
