Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned, in the strongest terms, the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al-Sharif by members of the Israeli Knesset, coinciding with the provocative actions carried out by extremists during these raids.
The Ministry stated that this constitutes a dangerous and unacceptable escalation, a reprehensible provocation, and a violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the historical and legal status quo there.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the repeated incursions by members of the Israeli Knesset and large numbers of extremists into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, which represents an exacerbation of the dangerous situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, a violation of Israel's obligations as the occupying power in occupied Jerusalem, and an attempt to impose temporal and spatial division.
Qudah stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
He called on the international community to take a firm international stance obligating Israel, as the occupying power, to cease its ongoing violations and illegal practices against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and its infringements on the sanctity of holy sites.
