The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Jordan posted a picture of the historic city of Salt.
UNESCO posed a question on its social media page: "Did you know that Salt is the only urban site in Jordan officially listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List as a city of tolerance and urban hospitality? It is a hidden gem worth exploring. Have you visited Salt before?"
In July 2021, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO announced the inclusion of the Jordanian city of Salt on the World Heritage List.
