Ammon News - Mohammad Al-Awamleh, president of the Jordanian Wrestling Federation, has been elected president of the Asian Wrestling Federation until 2028, securing a unanimous victory in the general assembly elections.
Al-Awamleh received 34 out of 38 votes during the federation’s General Assembly, held on Monday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, making him the highest vote-gathering president in the election’s history. His election also marks the first time an Arab has assumed the presidency of the Asian Wrestling Federation.
As part of his tenure, Al-Awamleh has joined the executive board of the International Wrestling Federation, aligning with efforts to develop and sustain the sport at the global level.
