Ammon News - A slow-moving cold front will begin to impact the region Wednesday following today's above-average temperatures, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
Tuesday will see relatively warm conditions across most of Jordan, with temperatures slightly decreasing but remaining above seasonal averages. Highs will reach 26 C in eastern Amman and 24 C in western districts, while the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will experience warmer conditions with temperatures reaching 34-36 C.
Scattered medium and high-level clouds will drift across northern and central regions, with isolated brief morning showers possible in far northern areas. Westerly winds at moderate speeds will intensify by afternoon, causing localized blowing dust across Badia regions.
The approaching weather system will bring significant changes Wednesday as a cold air mass pushes through the area. Daytime temperatures will drop noticeably, with increasing cloud cover throughout the day.
Precipitation chances will rise dramatically by evening as the frontal boundary moves across the region from northwest to southeast.
"Rainfall will begin in northern regions Wednesday evening before gradually extending to central areas and reaching southern territories by late night," the forecast indicates. "Some precipitation in northern areas may become heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and possible hail."
Wind direction will shift to northwesterly Wednesday night into Thursday, with speeds increasing significantly. These winds, combined with notably cooler temperatures, will enhance the sensation of cold.
Thursday will remain unseasonably cool with temperatures dropping below seasonal averages. Intermittent showers will persist across northern and central regions, with partly to occasionally overcast skies.
Gusty northwesterly winds with speeds potentially exceeding 65 km/h in some areas will cause reduced visibility due to blowing dust, particularly across eastern and southeastern regions.
Friday will bring gradual improvement with lingering morning shower chances in northern and central areas before conditions begin to stabilize. Temperatures will remain cool, with moderate northwesterly winds occasionally intensifying.
