Ammon News - Mayor of Greater Salt, Eng. Mohammed Al-Hyari, received on Thursday the new Turkish Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Yakub Cayamazoglu, at the Project Development Unit (Beit Falah Al-Hamad) building in Salt, one of the most prominent heritage landmarks that embodies the city's ancient history.
The meeting, held in the historic building's hall, was part of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The two sides discussed ways to expand partnerships in the areas of infrastructure, heritage, and culture, as well as exchanging technical expertise to improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
During the meeting, Al-Hyari emphasized the depth of the fraternal relations between Jordan and Turkey, established by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He pointed out the importance of strengthening these ties through sustainable development projects that take into account the historical identity of the city of Salt, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
For his part, Ambassador Cayamazoglu expressed his appreciation for Jordan's efforts to preserve its cultural heritage, expressing his enthusiasm for enhancing cooperation in the field of heritage site restoration and organizing joint cultural events, noting that, "Turkey and Jordan are strategic partners, and we seek to transform the vision of our leaderships into a tangible reality that benefits the peoples of both countries."
