Jordan condemns Israel's statements about establishing Palestinian state on Saudi territory

09-02-2025 08:15 AM

Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned recent Israeli statements opposing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on its national territory and calls for its creation on Saudi land.

The ministry described these remarks as inflammatory and a clear violation of international law, relevant UN resolutions, and state sovereignty.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, criticized what he described as Israel’s continued provocative policies and rhetoric, stressing that such statements reflect an exclusionary and hostile approach that undermines regional stability. He reaffirmed Jordan’s absolute rejection of these remarks and called on the international community to denounce them.

Jordan, he added, stands in full solidarity with Saudi Arabia against these statements, urging international actors to take a firm stance against irresponsible rhetoric that threatens peace efforts.

Qudah emphasized that Israel’s attempts to divert attention cannot obscure the core issue: the ongoing occupation and the violation of Palestinian rights.

He reiterated that the Palestinian people remain committed to their right to establish an independent, sovereign state along the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital an essential prerequisite for lasting security, peace, and stability in the region.

He also called for an immediate halt to Israeli escalations in the occupied West Bank, pointing to continued incursions, settlement expansion, and land confiscation as measures that entrench the occupation and undermine prospects for peace. Petra
