Ammon News - Cold weather continues to affect most parts of the Kingdom on Sunday, with relatively cold conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Low-altitude clouds are expected, while intermittent rain showers may occur in northern regions during the evening, extending at night to parts of central and eastern Jordan. Winds will be moderate southwesterly, shifting to westerly later in the evening.

The JMD warned of frost and ice formation in the early morning and late-night hours, particularly over high mountain areas, especially in the south. Reduced horizontal visibility is also expected due to fog formation over high-altitude regions and some plains. The department advised residents to wear warm clothing as temperatures could drop below freezing in some areas, particularly in mountainous regions.

A slight rise in temperatures is forecast for Monday, though conditions will remain cold in highlands, plains, and desert areas, with relatively cold weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Intermittent rain showers are expected in northern and central regions, as well as parts of eastern Jordan, with moderate southwesterly winds.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, cold weather will persist across most areas, with relatively cold conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Scattered clouds are expected at different altitudes, and there is a slight chance of light rain in northern Jordan. Maximum and minimum temperatures today will range between 10 C and 4 C in East Amman, 8 C and 2 C in West Amman, 6 C and 1 C in the northern highlands, 6 C and 0 C in the Sharah highlands, 13 C and 4 C in the desert areas, and 11 C and 5 C in the plains.
