06-02-2025 11:55 AM

Ammon News - In their editorial coverage on Thursday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the recent phone conversation between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The discussion centered on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing critical regional issues, including the situation in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, Syria, and other matters of shared concern both regionally and internationally.

Leading Qatari publications, including Al-Raya, Al-Watan, Al-Sharq, and Al-Arab, dedicated significant space to the phone call, with key topics prominently featured on their front pages.

The editorials underscored the ongoing collaborative efforts between Jordan and Qatar in supporting Palestinian resilience. Both countries reiterated their steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause, emphasizing their full support for the Palestinian people's legitimate rights in accordance with international law. Both nations have consistently opposed any violations of Palestinians' inalienable rights, particularly through settlement expansion, forced evictions, and land annexation.

In Al-Watan's editorial, titled "Support for Arab Causes," the publication called for enhanced regional cooperation and coordination to address the pressing challenges facing the Middle East. It stressed the importance of developing a unified approach to counter the region’s crises, with the hope that this will lead to a peaceful and prosperous future for all nations involved.

Meanwhile, Al-Sharq focused on Qatar’s sustained diplomatic efforts to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The editorial highlighted Qatar’s commitment to ensuring humanitarian aid reaches Gaza and to overcoming barriers that hinder assistance, as well as focusing on reconstruction efforts and preventing further displacement of Palestinians.

The newspapers reiterated the importance of Jordan and Qatar’s unwavering support for Palestinian sovereignty, emphasizing their shared position on protecting Palestinian rights. Both nations continue to reject actions that undermine these rights, condemning the forced displacement and occupation of Palestinian land.

In a powerful statement, Al-Sharq condemned any form of forced displacement of Palestinians as a gross violation of human rights and international law. It emphasized that such actions threaten regional stability, prolong the conflict, and undermine the potential for peace and coexistence in the Middle East. Petra
