04-02-2025 03:26 PM

Ammon News - Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmad Safadi, on Tuesday held official talks with President of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) Saqr Ghobash, in Abu Dhabi.

The two sides stressed the "deep-rooted, historic" bilateral relations, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, according to a House statement.

Safadi, in the presence of Jordanian Ambassador to UAE Nassar Habashneh, stressed the importance of enhancing Jordanian-Emirati relations in various fields, especially in parliamentary areas.

Safadi said the two countries' position is "unwavering" on Arab and Islamic issues, especially the Palestinian cause, and the necessity of finding a peaceful and just solution that guarantees safe living for Palestinian people on their land.

The only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace is by establishing a "fully" sovereign Palestinian state, he pointed out.

Jordan, he noted, remained on the right front in supporting the Palestinian people and providing various forms of relief to face the brutal aggression on Gaza.

Safadi pointed to the importance and role of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian sanctities to preserving the holy sites' identity.

With regard to joint cooperation, Safadi called for increasing mutual investment and trade exchange, which would "positively" reflect on the two countries, especially after the UAE's "remarkable" development in various sectors.

Safadi stated the region's current difficult circumstances require coordinated positions and increase joint cooperation to overcome these obstacles and continue the two countries' construction and progress path.

Meanwhile, Ghobash said Jordan has provided a lot to the UAE since the state's establishment, as Jordanians participated with their educational and technical expertise in building and developing the UAE in various fields.

Ghobash also stressed the "strong" bilateral relations at various levels and the harmony of the joint political position on the Palestinian issue and the necessity of continuing to provide support and assistance to the Palestinian people.
