Ammon News - The number of beggars arrested by the Anti-Vagrancy Department at the Ministry of Social Development decreased to 710 beggars during January, compared to the previous month of December, when it reached 765 beggars, according to the ministry’s reports for the two months.

Although the number of beggars arrested decreased in January, the number of campaigns carried out by the Anti-Vagrancy Department to arrest them increased to 423 campaigns, compared to 400 campaigns in the previous month.

The Ministry of Social Development issued on Monday its monthly achievements report for last January, in which it monitored the most prominent services it provided.

The Ministry stated that it received 9823 transactions related to preparing social studies for the purpose of granting health insurance to poor families, and 180 transactions for the purpose of exemption from treatment expenses, while it conducted 52 transactions for the purpose of settling the rights of heirs.

49 children were enrolled in child care homes, 36 children were released from care homes, while the number of children who were handed over to alternative families was 13 children, according to the report.

788 applications for exemption from work permit fees were received, the report indicated.
