Ammon News - South Korea's industrial output grew in 2024 due to a recovery in semiconductor production, statistical office data showed Monday.
The production index in all industries, which excludes the agriculture, livestock and fishery sector, gained 1.7 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year after rising 1.0 percent in 2023, according to Statistics Korea.
The index increased 0.4 percent in the fourth quarter on a quarterly basis, rebounding from decreases of 0.3 percent in the second quarter and 0.4 percent in the third quarter.
Output in the mining and manufacturing industry advanced 4.1 percent last year, turning around from a decline of 2.6 percent in the previous year. Xinhua
