Trial operation of electronic ticketing system in tourist sites

Ammon News - The annual report of the Economic Update Vision 2024, issued on Sunday, reviewed the most prominent achievements, obstacles and challenges facing the tourism sector during the past year, and they were represented by the delay in launching the sale of electronic tickets to tourist sites, the delay in issuing the instructions regulating the Tourism Law, and a challenge related to the financial allocations necessary to implement a number of projects.

The report reviews the most important details of the progress of work in the executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision 2025-2033.

The sector’s revenues last year amounted to JD5.1 billion, the number of international visitors was 6.1 million visitors, while the number of workers in the tourism sector amounted to 56 thousand male and female workers.

According to the report, the number of passengers traveling via low-cost airlines (contracted costs) was 182,000, while the number of unified tickets sold was 99.1 thousand tickets.

The number of trainees in the field of maintenance and antiquities until September 2024 was about 200 trainees, and the number of male and female trainees from job seekers and workers in the tourism sector and tourism service providers was 1,100 trainees.

The report issued on Sunday shows the contracting of 5 lines from the targeted countries (Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Krakow, Milan) in the winter season 2024/2025 (November 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025).

London, Budapest, and Abu Dhabi lines will be operated in the winter season, and flights from Rome, Vienna, and Milan will resume in the summer season of 2025, with the possibility of operating new lines from Warsaw, Poland, to Amman and from Katowice, Poland, to Aqaba, according to the report.

Regarding the Ajloun cable car, an electronic system was implemented to facilitate site visits, 16 new investment agreements were signed during 2024, and a bid was issued for the solar energy system project.

The cable car will provide 156 job opportunities during the year 2024, the report showed.

As for the "Urdunna Jannah" program, which was recently suspended, 10,000 trips were organized with the participation of 387 companies and the participation of more than 311,000 Jordanians. Al-Mamlaka
