Jordanian Ambassador visits Jordanian pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair

Ammon News - Jordan's Ambassador to Egypt, Amjad Al-Adailah, visited the Jordanian pavilion and the booths of Jordanian publishing houses at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, held under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Al-Adailah toured the Ministry of Culture’s section within the Jordanian pavilion, where he explored a diverse collection of publications covering culture, literature, and intellectual thought. The displayed works included titles from various fields of knowledge, as well as selections from the "Family Library" and "Cultural Priority" publications.

Salem Al-Daham, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, provided an overview of Jordan’s participation at the fair. He highlighted the display of more than 200 titles in areas such as culture, literature, and knowledge, in addition to the participation of several Jordanian writers and intellectuals in seminars and cultural sessions scheduled throughout the event, which is themed "Read In the Beginning Was the Word."

Accompanied by Jber Abu Faris, Chairman of the Jordanian Publishers Association, Al-Adailah also visited the booths of approximately 35 Jordanian publishing houses, receiving insights from publishers about their participation. This year’s showcase has received wide acclaim from fair visitors from across the Arab world and beyond.

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Al-Adailah expressed his pride in Jordan’s high-quality participation, emphasizing that the fair provides a valuable opportunity to promote Jordanian cultural production.

He reaffirmed Jordan’s ongoing commitment to participating in this significant cultural event, which is consistently supported by Egypt, a country that values the involvement of Jordanian cultural and intellectual figures in its diverse fair activities.

Al-Adailah also stressed the importance of the Cairo International Book Fair as a prominent cultural platform that fosters the exchange of literature and ideas, contributing to the global dialogue on cultural diversity.

In addition, Al-Adailah visited the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion, the guest of honor at this year’s fair. He praised Oman’s impressive cultural contributions, which reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage and its influence within the Gulf and the Arab world.

During his visit to the Omani pavilion, Al-Adailah met with Abdullah Al-Rahbi, Oman’s Ambassador to Cairo, to commend the well-organized and high-quality presentation, which includes manuscripts and books that showcase Oman’s cultural legacy, complemented by seminars featuring prominent Omani intellectuals and cultural figures.
