Ammon News - Director-General of the Jordanian-Syrian Joint Free Zone, Irfan Khasawneh, assured that the administration is ready to extend working hours if needed to facilitate the smooth entry of trucks into Syria.
In an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Tuesday, Khasawneh emphasized the zone's preparedness to adapt to evolving circumstances and expected an uptick in activity across various sectors, including industry, commerce, automotive, and services.
Since the reopening of the border, 323 trucks have crossed into Syria through the joint free zone. Khasawneh highlighted that Jordanian trucks loaded with goods continue to enter Syrian territory, addressing the growing demand for essential goods, particularly foodstuffs, with simplified procedures in place to ensure efficiency.
He further noted that operations within the free zone are running smoothly, with transactions being processed promptly and without delays. The staff is fully equipped to handle any increase in truck traffic or cargo volumes, in accordance with the measures implemented to support seamless trade flow. Petra
