Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said on Monday that Jordan and Syria have agreed to cooperate to combat drug and arms smuggling from Syria to Jordan.
During his interview on Al Jazeera following talks he held with the Commander-in-Chief of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, Safadi added that drug and arms smuggling still exists because the smuggling tools still exist.
Jordan and Syria agree that terrorism is a threat to everyone, Safadi stated.
He stressed that fighting terrorism is a common goal, and Jordan will defend its security and stability.
The minister also indicated that Jordan stands by the Syrian people in the reconstruction phase towards rebuilding their homeland, a free, secure, independent homeland with no terrorism or danger, and a system in which all Syrians participate in formulating it and which protects the rights of all Syrians.
