Ammon News - The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) organized a celebration on Sunday 12/22/2024 on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day under the title: "Justice and Integrity... the approach of every official and employee."
IACC Chairman Muhannad Hijazi, said that the number of investigative files referred to the judiciary during 2024 amounted to 176 investigative files, a decrease of 41% compared to 2023.
The value of the recoveries that the commission contributed to during 2023, whether direct or indirect, amounted to JD141 million, Hijazi added.
The commission worked to launch and implement the National Integrity Index in 2022, which aimed to measure the extent of the General Administration's commitment to national integrity standards, as the new version of this index will be launched today in accordance with international standards and the policies adopted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), he pointed.
Jordan ranked 61st out of 142 countries on the Rule of Law Index issued by the World Justice Program last October. The index also showed that Jordan was among 59 countries that made progress worldwide in combating corruption during 2023-2024, according to Hijazi.
