Director of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) , Raed Al Khattab, said that the winter marbaniyeh is one of the important periods in the rainy season, as the rains of the marbaniyeh usually constitute 30% of the general seasonal average, and its days are characterized by extreme cold and various weather phenomena such as frost, freezing, and rain or snow.
The accumulated rainfall until mid-December amounted to 4% of the general seasonal average, making this season the second weakest performance after the 1958/1959 season, according to the climate record of the Amman Civil Airport monitoring station, he stated.
