Ammon News - The number of Jordanian pilgrims has decreased by 60% compared to the past three years, according to the spokesperson for the Tourism and Travel Agents Association, Rafe Al-Tahat.
Al-Tahat attributed this decline to the increase in land trip prices from JD120 to JD220 compared to last year.
He stressed that the increase in costs constitutes a heavy burden on many families, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions.
The spokesperson also told Al-Mamlaka that the increase in the price of the visa from JD25 to JD100 had a direct impact on the decline in the number of Jordanians performing the Umrah rituals by land.
